Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation
2018 through 2021
The Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation offers support for entrepreneurs, researchers, and all movers and shakers through education, partnership and new venture creation. From local South Side businesses to global organizations, all members and partners of Polsky leave our programs empowered by knowledge and return having made a greater impact, ready for more. The Polsky Center is also home to the top-ranked business accelerator program Edward L. Kaplan, ’71, New Venture Challenge.
I was so proud to work in a space people would come to to better themselves and their communities. Below are written and design content I’ve created for Polsky’s eager to learn audiences.
Articles
At the start of 2020, I began contributing articles to Polsky’s blog. These two feature breakdowns from a speaker series and webinar event. I have also conducted interviews of some of the many entrepreneurs and business owners Polsky supports. Writing has been an incredible opportunity to learn more and present the expertise Polsky’s members have to offer. Getting to create the content that helps newcomers find their place within Polsky’s wide umbrella and feel prepared to pursue their ventures was a great way to further connect with the Polsky community.

Design Work
I started at Polsky as a student marketing design intern, and found it to be the best way to get to know the soul and voice of Polsky. I’ve supported programming by creating graphics, calendars, and booklets for both print and online use to advertise events and inform attendees. Many of my first assignments included templates to work from, but I worked hard to create original designs and give a breath of fresh air to each layout.
Over time, as more new events and programs were added to Polsky’s repertoire, I had the opportunity to build new templates from scratch while staying true to the Polsky brand. My design templates were used for event program booklets, social media posts, posters and banners.
