UChicago Bite
UChicago Bite is the University of Chicago's culinary organization. Bite produces a quarterly food publication and regularly updated blog that provides recipes, restaurant reviews, cooking tips, and more to college students. I joined Bite the fall of my first year as a staff designer working on layout for the magazine. Every quarter since then, I’ve contributed to Bite as a staff photographer for both the magazine and the blog.
I love savoring dishes through pictures and showing the beauty of simple ingredients. This position pushed me to explore a much wider range of the Chicago food scene than I would have alone. It has also brought me to lesser known, local establishments around the Hyde Park and South Side neighborhood where I get to experience more intimate interactions with the chefs and owners. From the kitchens of Hyde Park restaurants to private wine and cheese tastings in Paris, Bite has given me a new perspective on food and a full stomach.
